Bournemouth Wedding Photographer – St Aldhelm’s Chapel & Wilkswood Farm, Swanage – Anna & James’ Wedding

Anna and James’ wedding at the St Aldhelm’s Chapel and Wilkswood Farm, Swanage

Anna and James married at St Aldhelm’s Chapel which is perched close to the cliff edge at St Aldhelm’s Head, Worth Matravers.

The chapel is steeped with history and on Anna and James’ wedding day with sea mist as well! The isolated chapel has a lot of charm and is very atmospheric for a wedding being lit only by candles and light from  a very small window.

Anna and James were joined by family and friends to witness their wedding in the small chapel and their vows were made with their warm breath lingering  in the cold air for a while.

The ceremony guests headed off  Wilkswood Farm where more guests were joining the wedding party for drinks and Canapes ahead of the wedding breakfast. This provided an ideal opportunity for those less formal photos.

Bournemouth Wedding Photographer – Poole Methodist Church, Parkstone, Dorset – Anna and Murray’s Wedding

Anna and Murray’s Wedding at Poole Methodist Church and Sandbanks Beach, Dorset

Anna and Murray had travelled from New Zealand to enjoy a traditional Christmas with Anna’s family and to share their wedding day with UK friends and family, before returning to New Zealand for another ceremony for family and friends there.

The ceremony was very personal with readings by family members, dancing performed by friends and the organ played by the Bride’s Father. Tea and cake was served afterwards as not all of the church guests could make it to the reception.

The weather forecast earlier in the week looked to be quite good especially as Anna wanted to stop off at the beach for photos on the way to the reception.  As the wedding day got closer the forecast changed and it looked as though it was going to be very windy with rain all day. As we left the church the weather seemed a bit brighter although the light was disappearing fast. Anna was  not deterred (we’ve known Brides change their mind in much better weather conditions!) and so we headed down to Sandbanks beach.

Although it was windy and not the climate that Murray was used to we managed to get a few shots on the beach before retreating for some shelter.

We bid our farewells just as it started to rain and Anna and Murray made their way onto their reception in Studland.

Amanda & Charles 1st June 2013

Amanda and Charles’ Renewal of Vows ceremony at St Nicholas Church, Moreton and reception at Moreton Gardens.

Amanda and Charles had chosen St Nicholas Church in the lovely Dorset village of Moreton for their renewal of vows ceremony.

Amanda and Charles arrived separately and as they saw each other broke into beaming smiles and after a few arrival shots they made their entrance together  into the church which was full of their waiting guests.

The church is well-known for its connections with Laurence of Arabia. The church was rebuilt after being hit during the war and the stained glass windows were not replaced, instead engraved/etched glass windows  created by Laurence Whistler were installed. The windows are famous and provide some lovely different  lighting. A beautiful church but unfortunately the Reverend doesn’t allow any photography during ceremonies not even one from the back during a hymn, such a shame as the couple have no visual record of their ceremony.

After the ceremony everyone made their way over to Moreton Gardens for the afternoon celebrations.  The weather was fantastic so everyone was able to enjoy drinks and canapés on the lawn and some ventured into the gardens which were looking quite beautiful.

With formal photos taken we had a quick trip around the gardens stopping off at a few spots with Amanda and Charles for a few portraits before returning them to their guests for the wedding breakfast.

We wish Amanda and Charles all the very best. We are busy preparing their images from the day so while we are doing this we hope you enjoy these few images.

Sarah & Tim’s Wedding 4th August 2012 at St James, Kingston and A Marquee Reception nearby.

A trip over to the Isle of Purbeck for today’s wedding at St James’,  a grand Victorian church in the village of Kingston. The village is situated on a hill surrounded by woods and overlooks Corfe Castle. A favourite location for walkers to stop by for a welcome drink at the Scott Arms which is where Sarah was getting ready for her wedding.

We started by meeting Tim and his Best Man as they arrived at the church. Today’s weather forecast wasn’t brilliant and thunder and lightning had been mentioned. However, from our arrival onwards it just got better and better, the Isle of Purbeck has it’s own micro climate!

Sarah arrived with her Dad in a horse-drawn carriage and was met by her bridesmaids, page-boy and Revd. Gaynor Burrett who led the way up the path to the church door.

The ceremony was full of fun, laughter, tears and smiles and of course the serious elements as well. With the vows made, rings exchanged, registers signed hymns sung and prayers said the couple made their way out of the church into the glorious sunshine.

The guests made their way onto the marquee after a few formal photos and the throwing of confetti. Sarah and Tim stayed at the church for some photos of just the two of them while we waited for the return of the horse and carriage which had taken the bridesmaids and page-boy up to the marquee.

Sarah and Tim enjoyed some time alone in the carriage as it made its way up to the marquee where all the guests were eagerly awaiting the arrival of the newly married couple.

We wish Sarah and Tim a very happy and long life together. We are busy preparing their images from the day so while we are doing this we hope you enjoy these few images from their day.

All of the photos from the day will be available to view online as soon as Sarah and Tim have had first look. Donna & Mark’s Wedding 19th December 2011

Donna and Mark had always wanted to marry at St Aldhelm’s Chapel, Worth Matravers. A remote but romantic location.

The chapel is located close to the cliffs of St Aldhelm’s Head and is a small stone chapel about 25 feet square with no heating or electricity. It was probably used for weekly services for the coastguards and their families who lived in cottages nearby.  Today it was for a romantic candlelit ceremony shared with family and friends.

The weather wasn’t kind to Donna and Mark, it was wet and windy and it didn’t look as though it was going to get any better.

On our way to the chapel we stopped off at Olivers Bistro in Corfe to photograph the venue where the guests would later be enjoying a traditional afternoon tea before a quick visit to Mortons House Hotel where Donna was getting ready for a few photographs and then on to the chapel.

The guests arrived at the chapel and we waited for Donna’s arrival. The car got close to the chapel door to save Donna from getting wet and wind-swept, umbrellas weren’t much use in this weather!

After the ceremony the couple made a dash to the car and we headed off to Mortons House Hotel with them for a few photos while the guests made their way to Olivers Bistro.

Donna and Mark rejoined their guests to a round of applause and a big cheer for afternoon tea and a glass or two of champagne.

Donna and Mark although disappointed with the weather were happy that they had been able to marry at the chapel which was more important to them, so at least the weather hadn’t stopped this, there could have been snow and ice – remember last year!

We wish Donna and Mark all the very best for their future together.

We hope you enjoy these few images from the day. All of the photographs from the day will be available to view online as soon as Donna and Mark have seen them. If you visit the client area on our website, click on Donna and Mark’s album, enter the password provided you can leave your email address and we will notify you when the images are available to view.

Mel & Karen’s Wedding 25th March 2010

A small intimate wedding held in St Edwards Chapel in Lady St Marys in Wareham. A beautiful chapel with soft lighting, decorated with flowers with the choir singing at the chapel entrance made this a very memorable occasion.

We met the new vicar for the first time and instantly knew why Mel and Karen felt so at ease with him.

The guests joined Mel and Karen for a meal at the Priory after the ceremony.

We wish Mel and Karen all the very best.
