Amy & Jon’s Wedding 23rd December 2013

Amy and Jon’s Wedding at the Elmers Court Hotel in the New Forest

Amy and Jon chose the Elmers Court Hotel near Lymington in the New Forest to share their wedding celebrations with friends and family.

About a week before their wedding winter storms were being forecast, we were hoping that the day would be bright and dry as Amy and Jon really wanted to have some photos outside but mother nature had different ideas!

As we drove across the forest to reach the hotel the wind was getting stronger and the rain was ever more threatening.

The guests started to arrive and so did the rain. As we finished a few photos with Jon and his Best Man we heard the Amy had arrived with her Bridesmaid and Dad at the front of the hotel.

Amy’s parents had hired a snow machine as a surprise for the couple and as they pulled up the driveway the snow machine created a sprinkling of snow on the ground. Just as a little more snow was going to be created the storm took down a power line and electricity to the hotel was cut leaving everything in darkness.

The guests by now were in the ceremony room with Jon awaiting the arrival of the Bride. It looked as though the power would be out for a while and that the ceremony would be in near darkness! We have a powerful studio light which can be operated by a battery which we offered so at least you could see the Bride and Groom  and with some candles from the hotel the ceremony went ahead.

The humanist ceremony was very personal and described Amy and Jon’s life’s path and journey to this point. A reading by Amy’s brother and promises made by the couple to each other was concluded with signing the certificate before the celebrations began.

The weather really had turned by now and with the power still off a welcome drink was served. We had found a little area at the back of the hotel which was covered for some Bride and Groom photos and the family photos were taken inside by the Christmas tree.

We wish Amy and Jon all the very best for their future together. We are busy preparing their images from the day so while we are doing this we hope you enjoy these few images.

Desiree and Conor’s Wedding 18th December 2013

Desiree and Conor’s wedding at the King’s Arms Hotel Christchurch

Desiree and Conor celebrated their wedding with close family and friends at the Kings Arms Hotel in Christchurch.

The weather had turned and we were expecting a very grey day and the forecasted rain and gales. Inside the hotel in the ceremony room it couldn’t have been more different with a vibrant pink as the colour theme making the day feel so much warmer and brighter.

Desiree was in the final stages of getting ready when we arrived so we were able to spend some time with her for some bridal portraits before we met up with Conor and his Best Man ahead of the ceremony.

After the wedding ceremony the newly married couple were keen to have their photos outside so we held off with the family photos which were going to be taken inside and headed over towards the Pavilion. The sky was getting darker, the wind was picking up and rain was threatening but the Pavilion provided us with some shelter from the weather.

We wish Desiree and Conor all the very best for their future together. We are busy preparing their images from the day so while we are doing this we hope you enjoy these few images.
